Artistic Practice

Working primarily with clay printing techniques, Sushma creates ceramic forms that carry imprints of pattern, process, and touch. Her work explores the dialogue between control and chance, transforming surfaces into visual narratives.

Inspired by nature, traditional motifs, and everyday observations, her ceramics bridge tradition and contemporary expression.

The Memory of Making

My work in ceramics is an exploration of surface, texture, and memory. Working primarily with clay printing techniques, I create forms that carry imprints of pattern and process, allowing each piece to reveal its own narrative.

Clay, for me, is both responsive and unpredictable. The act of printing onto its surface becomes a dialogue—between control and chance, tradition and experimentation. These imprinted surfaces transform functional and sculptural objects into vessels of visual rhythm and tactile experience.

Through my work, I invite viewers to slow down, observe closely, and engage with the subtle details that handmade ceramics offer. Each piece reflects a moment of making, shaped by time, touch, and intention.
